My research is dedicated to studying complex biomechanical systems. To study these systems, I integrate disciplines of mechanical engineering, finite-element analysis, computational modeling, robotics, design, optimization, neuroscience, and imaging. My goals in researching at this interface include improving prosthetic and robotic hand design (doctoral research) and eliminating plastic surgery failures for children with cleft palates (postdoctoral research).
